Who We Are

Our History

The Indonesian Society of International Law (INASIL) was founded by Professor Hikmahanto Juwana together with the four members of the first Indonesian team ever to compete at the Jessup Competition in Washington D.C. in 2001: Arisia Pusponegoro, Adhyanti Sardanarini Wirajuda, Maria Irma Yunita Ardhiyanti, and Ignatius Puguh Priambodo. INASIL was officially appointed by International Law Student Association (ILSA), the grand organizer of the International Rounds of the Jessup Competition, to organize the Indonesian National Rounds since 2002.

In retrospect, INASIL has undergone a remarkable 20-year long journey indeed. To mark its 20th anniversary, the acronym of ISIL is changed to INASIL and introduced a new logo. We are ready to embark our new journey of continuing to nurture the skills of Indonesian law students through their participation in Jessup Competition and other law student activities.
